Disney Vacation Club

Because Disney Vacation Club offers a complex timeshare product, it was essential we provided prospective members a seamless educational experience to browse through.

Utilizing card sorting, we were strategic in how we structured these pages. This design is in anticipation of users not being familiar with Disney Vacation Club or having some prior knowledge of what is offered, therefore both use-cases still needs relevant information.

From a workflow standpoint, we were designing using a component-based system. Because this site would live in Disney’s proprietary Content Management System, the client would have full authorship to edit copy and imagery living within in any component we created. In anticipation of this, we strategically built and developed our design system in a way that allows for flexibility and scalability.

While the benefit of using the CMS is full authorship from the client’s side after handoff, we did want to ensure the design tone and concept built during the design phase was maintained. To do this we provided an imagery and content guideline document outlining our recommended image uses, aspect ratios, and copy count limits. These suggestions allowed Disney Vacation Club to take the building blocks we created and build upon them in a consistent way.
